I had three sealing blocks to choose from when I was putting this engine together (one from my old engine and two from the other short blocks I was robbing parts from). The same was true for the front plates (2 useful ones vs 3). I did not notice any difference in the various parts but I do remember that I installed a sealing block with a single horizontal tapped hole that was more or less directly under the crank.
I will have to take a closer look at the other sets of parts to see if the other front plate and either sealing blocks had multiple horizontal holes.

: Hi.
: Speaking of front engine plate.. I
: just assembled an engine and noticed
: that in the gasket set they included
: two front engine gaskets. Both
: identical except for thickness. One was
: about .005 or so and the other was
: about .010 I did'nt mic them but thats
: my estimate. So why would it matter
: what thickness that gasket is? Also I
: noticed on those front sealing plates
: that the older GT6 plates don't have
: the horizontal screw holes (2) that
: come from the front engine plate. So...
: Did yours have those holes in it??
: Just a thought.
