Saturday's Flatwater Paddle is changed to Wickford

Due to low water on the Sudbury River, I am moving Saturday’s paddle to Wickford Harbor.

June 20th – meet at 10:00 for a 10:30 launch
Wickford Harbor and Backwaters

We will launch from the Wickford Cove Kayak Launch at Wilson Park at 10:30 launch and explore the calm protected waters of Mill Cove and Fishing Cove before paddling into Wickford Harbor. We will stop for lunch at Cornelius Island or near the breakwater. Bring a lunch.

Small craft advisory in effect today

Narragansett Bay has a small craft advisory in effect today until 4:00 with winds from the west at 15 to 20 kt and gusts up to 25 kt. Waves 2 to 3 ft. We will definitely stay in the protected areas around the islands and behind the breakwater.

It was windy so we stayed in the backwaters for about a 3-mile trip. Few pictures herer:
