Due to low water at Tully Lake, I am moving the trip on October 11th to the Narrow River.
We will put in at Sprague Bridge. High tide is 11:30, so we will meet at 10:00 for a 10:30 launch. We will do a round trip up through Pettaquamscutt Cove and the Narrows between Middlebridge Road and Bridgetown Road – about 6-miles. Those who are interested can paddle down to the beach when we get back to the bridge. You must be a strong paddler as we may have current and windy conditions. Suitable for boats 14-feet or longer. Bring a lunch.
Put in: 298-276 Boston Neck Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882 https://maps.app.goo.gl/FUpVmWHfrh7HBc6f9 Additional parking is available on the other side of the river on both sides of Route 1A
Re: Trip on October 11th moved to the Narrow River
Looks like we are going to have a nice day for the trip tomorrow:
Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Light east wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. A slight chance of rain after 2pm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
High tide is 11:35, so hopefully we will paddle up and back with the tide. Current usually isn't an issue, but it can get windy - especially going through the marsh. Tough to know what to wear this time of year. Water is around 67. Air temps in the mid 60's. Change of cloths probably isn't a bad idea.
Bring a lunch, we will stop somewhere around Bridgetown Road.
