Point Judith Pond/Bessing of the Fleet - July 26th

This is a joint flatwater/sea kayak trip that coincides with the Blessing of the Fleet in Galilee.

We will put in at the public boat launch at Marina Park - meet at 10:00 for a 10:30 launch. We will paddle through Upper Point Judith Pond, out the Narrows and down Point Judith Pond to Galilee. We should arrive in Galilee at around noon, which will allow us to see the ships coming through the Breachway. We usually stop for lunch at Dog Beach across from Galilee. If it is too busy, we will stop of at the Galilee Boat Ramp before paddling back.

Trip is around 8-miles. Suitable for boats 14-feet or longer. You must be a strong paddler as we often have very windy conditions to deal with along with currents and boat traffic. Bring a lunch.

Hi all - looks like it is going to be a nice day. See you at Marina Park at 10:00 for a 10:30 launch. We will be using the hand carried boat ramp next to the Point Judith Yacht Club.

It's a beautiful day on Point Judith Pond. A little hazy at the moment, but it will burn off. Slight wind from the north, which will probably switch to the south this afternoon. Hight tide around 10:00, so it will be going out as we paddle. See you later.
