Bill, Chuck and I are planning to paddle Sunday on the Wood/Pawcatuck. Looks like temps will get up into the low 40's, but we may have some wind.
We are planning to paddle from Alton Pond on the Wood River to Bradford Landing on the Pawcatuck River - little over 5-miles. There is current along this whole section so we shouldn't hit any ice. The section of the Wood River at the start is narrow, so we may encounter some downed trees that we'll need to wade around. Once we get on the Pawcatuck the river opens up. There is broken dam at Burdickville that can be run or portaged. We'll stop for lunch and maybe a quick fire at the Burlingame Canoe Campsites - bring a chair.
We'll meet at Alton Pond at 10:30 for the shuttle. We should be off the river around 2:00. Dry suit required - don't think anyone will swim (never know), but we may need to get out and wade around trees.
Let me know if you are interested.
