Bill and I got out for an early morning run on the Charles River yesterday. We did the section from Medfield to Dover with a side trip up to South End Pond - about 6-miles. You may remember that we had a trip scheduled on this section of the river last year, but had to move it due to low water and weeds blocking the river. The good news is that the river was open yesterday. The bad news is that we saw several patches of water chestnut. Unfortunately, small patches of water chestnut soon become big patches of water chestnut. It will be a shame if this river gets taken over. Maybe we will do this trip later in the fall. Here are my pictures - the leaves are already starting to turn.
