Potential mid week paddle

In early October I plan to paddle from Magazine Beach in Cambridge to The USS Constitution in Charlestown and back. Parking at the launch tends to jam up very early on weekends due to the almost constant use of the athletic fields. I will probably go on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. The round trip is over 8 Miles and because the river is wide wind waves and boat traffic can be a factor. This trip will involve passing through the locks at the Gridley Dam and there may not be an opportunity to get out of your boat. If there is anyone interested in going along please contact me and we can pick a good day.

At this point I am Planing on Thursday the 6th but I will need to keep an eye on the weather and if nessary reschedule.

The weather looks good for tomorrow with the temps getting to 70 and only light wind. Plan on arriving at to Magazine beach in time for a 9:30 launch. The easy way to get there is to take the Mass Pike, Rt 90 East to the Alston Brighton Exit #131 it on the on the left. Stay right on the ramp towards Cambridge and cross the Charles River then immediately turn right on Memorial Drive. Magazine beach is on the right wait until you get to the off ramp at the end of the park. Turn onto the ramp and there is a driveway on the right for the athletic fields and canoe launch.
