The forecast looks great for Tuesday evening. Julie, Steve and I scouted and cleared a few obstacles from the river yesterday. Things to be aware of when deciding to come on this trip include: Several submerged rocks, two beaver dams (1 low enough to paddle over yesterday, one that we'll have to pull over to continue up) and a rock wall/dam with shallow clearance. I would consider avoiding fiberglass boats or anything you do not want scratched. As with any river trip, conditions can change at any time.
We'll go up the river for about 30-40 min (to where it is blocked by two big trees, then back down stream past the put-in to the Harrisville Mill Pond. Hope to see you there.
Changes and cancellations to trips will be posted on the flatwater message board.
Please check the board before leaving for any trip. Our coordinators provide directions as a courtesy to paddlers however, you are responsible to refer to a map and familiarize yourself with the trip location.
