Blackstone River Blackstone Feb 17th

I am heading to the Blackstone River in Blackstone Feb 17th. Meet at 10:30 at the Gorge at the end of County Street and paddle up to Millville and float back. Anyone interested?

It's hard to pass up a paddle on a 55 degree day in February. I'll see you there.

And for any of you who are unsure to which "end of County Street" Earl refers, it is the one nearest the river.

Great paddle! Some ice where there was no current but the full river was wide open. We were able to get through on the usually blocked canal on river left just below the Triad Bridge. The water was high enough to go over the blocking tree and there was also a path between the logs which may not be passable in shallower water.

Up stream we were able to almost get past the rapids but the volume of water coming down on the initial little drop was too much for either of us to push through. Thanks Earl!
