Note: Please inspect your boat and gear for any invasive Aquatic plants. If you have been on the water in the past 5 days, please clean and dry your equipment. Also, check, clean, drain and dry after.
Masks will be required at the put-in and any time we cannot maintain social distance.
Our first on-water meeting/paddle of the season is the signal that summer is here! For those new to the club, a group paddle or event replaces the more structured meetings of fall through spring, and takes place on a Monday evening in the months of June, July and August.
41° 32.44' N 71° 41.788' W See this location in: Google Maps This site is adjacent to the Barberville Dam on the Wood River at the headquarters of the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association (WPWA). It is the first good take-out on the Wood River after putting in at Route 165. There is an excellent handicapped accessible canoe and kayak launch here at the WPWA headquarters.Changes and cancellations to trips will be posted on the flatwater message board. Please check the board before leaving for any trip. Our leaders provide directions as a courtesy to paddlers however, you are responsible to refer to a map and familiarize yourself with the trip location.
