Join RIDEM and staff from the City of East Providence and local watershed stakeholders to provide feedback on the lake management plan recommendations for Turner Reservoir and Central Pond in East Providence. Lake scientists contracted by RIDEM will present findings on water quality issues and recommend solutions including management of aquatic invasive plants such as water chestnut. The meeting is part of RIDEM's ongoing project to help five local communities develop long-term lake management plans to create a roadmap to improving water quality in five lakes in Rhode Island (Central Pond/Turner Reservoir, East Providence, Georgiaville Pond, Smithfield, Indian Lake, South Kingstown, Tiogue Lake, Coventry, and Upper Dam Pond/Breezy Lake in Coventry). Participants are encouraged to attend the meeting at the Weaver Public Library in East Providence at 6 PM on Thursday, August 27, however those who cannot travel may register to participate on Zoom
