Hi all – looks like we will have a nice night for our trip at Stump Pond. We are putting in the Stump Pond Fishing Area. Here is the link from Google Maps:

When you get to Log Road you will see a signs that say “Road Closed” and “Local Access Only”. We have confirmed with Smithfield Police that the road is open to access the fishing area from the Rt 116 end. There is construction further up the street.

There are two parking areas at the Stump Pond Fishing Access – a smaller one for fishing and a larger one at the boat ramp. We can park in both.

If you park at the boat ramp be sure to leave the longer spaces for trucks will trailers. Don’t leave kayaks or canoes blocking the boat ramp. Launch at the boat ramp and paddled over to the fishing area. We will do the safety talk and get started from the fishing area.

With all the rain, the level of the pond is up, which means we won’t be able to get under the Rt 116 bridge to access that section of the pond. Staying in the main pond is still a nice 3-mile trip.
