A quick update on tonight's paddle. Yesterday we scouted the route for tonight's paddle (THANKS Paul, Henry and Steve) and were able to get all the way up to the West Hill Dam easily paddling upstream over three beaver dams with no major obstacles. The water was higher than usual so expect a bit of extra work vs the current in the twisty narrows and the clearance under the two tunnels on East Hartford Ave was lower than usual, kayaks should have no issue, canoeists will likely have to duck and/or kneel. The water level may have dropped a little since yesterday but I anticipate getting all the way up to the dam where we can take a short break if we want to. Dress warmly and I recommend brining a change of clothes in a drybag, just in case. See you tonight.
