A group of us are going to paddle down the Assabet River in Stow, MA on Wednesday afternoon, stopping at some of my favorite spots along the way, including a brand-new conservation parcel with a fantastic view of the river. After the paddle we'll grab dinner and a beer in downtown Maynard, and then head across the street to the art deco Fine Arts Theatre for the Wild and Scenic Film Festival, a fundraiser for OARS, the local group working to protect, improve, and preserve the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord Rivers.
