Hi folks - for this trip we usually offer the opportunity for paddlers to do either the Canal/River Loop, or Rice City Pond. I scouted the Canal/River Loop over the weekend, and found it low and tricky in spots. The current often takes you into strainers that can be difficult to avoid. The bottom of the canal was also green with duckweed and there is a large strainer that would be difficult to portage. So we decided to skip the Canal/River Loop and just do one trip in Rice City Pond.

We will paddle up the old Blackstone Canal to the Goat Hill Lock and up a section of the Blackstone River before retuning through Rice City Pond.

We will meet at the Tri-River Medical Center Parking Lot (281 E Hartford Ave, Uxbridge, MA) at 6:00 for the 6:15 launch.
