Trip is limited to 12 participants.
Ma Taunton River trip. Saturday July 25th. Meet at the Berkley bridge at 9:00am in parking lot. Launch at 9:20am. Please be early as lot fills quickly. The river is brackish and wide enough for all types of boats. We will float upstream on an incoming tide to another launch at the Weir landing. We will return after break downstream for a total of eight miles and about 3-4 miles on the water. Some may want to take a side trip up the Segregansett river. The shoreline varies from salt marsh to wooded farmland without much urban congestion. Please RSVP with leader and always wear masks on landing. Please bring PFD, water, sunscreen, lunch and Covid prevent accessories. You will want to wash off if you swim.
Taunton River Berkley Bridge
Taunton River – Berkley Bridge Village Heritage Park, 70 Elm St. Berkley, Mass.

From Providence Rt 195 exit 4-5 take (Warren Ave.) – Taunton Ave. Rte. 44 exit. Go east on route 44 for about 15 miles. After entering Taunton take the first right after Segregansett Country Club (0.4 mile) onto Burt St./Williams St near the old dog track. After 2.6 miles turn left onto Center St. After 2.5 miles you will cross the Taunton River on the Berkley Bridge. The bridge and launch is another mile past the light at the Rt 138 intersection. The launch site is immediately on your right. Parking is limited.
The park has picnic tables and a port-a-party. There is room to park 10 vehicles.
Off-site parking is available on Elm St. and at Bristol Aggie School.
Berkley Bridge is located between Taunton (Route 44) and Fall River (Routes 6 and 195), just off of Route 138. There are several routes of travel, but the one listed above seems to be the most direct. The Berkley bridge is about 12 miles North of Somerset center on Rte. 138.
MAndatory RSVP with the leaders, do not show up without confirmation from the trip leader. Always wear masks on land or when 6 feet of social distancing can not be maintained. Follow state guidelines in the the state in which your trip is in.
