We will put in at spot abutting Davis Memorial Wildlife Refuge on Davisville Rd. (0.4 miles from Frenchtown Rd). Coordinates 41°37'26.8"N 71°28'55.0"W.
This is about a 3-1/4 round trip paddle of a little used river. The river is a lazy river making it easy to paddle up and back. You will see plenty of birds along the way as the river heads towards S. Rd. The river narrows in spots so I am looking for no more than 5 people for this trip.
From Providence: Take Route 95 South to Route 4 south (2.3 miles) to Exit 7A (Route 402/Frenchtown Rd East). Cross over Route 4 and turn right at first traffic light onto Davisville Rd. Follow Davisville Rd for 0.4 miles. Park in dirt area by small bridge.
From South County: Take Route 4 north to Exit 6, Route 2 north. Follow Route 2 north for 1.0 miles to Frenchtown Rd. and turn right. Follow Frenchtown Rd east for about 0.4 miles. After crossing over Route 4, turn right at first traffic light onto Davisville Rd. Follow Davisville Rd for 0.4 miles. Park in dirt area by small bridge.
RSVP here with your real name, please. This is a river that can be narrow at times, so I am setting the maximum number of participants at 5.
Face coverings and social distancing are required at the launch and take out, and any time people are closer than 6’ apart. Everyone will be responsible for their own equipment and launch. You do not have to wear a face covering while paddling, but you need to have something with you at all times for this purpose. Do not attend if you are ill.
