Originally, our plan for this trip was to paddle downstream to meet the Paddle Across Rhode Island crew as they paddled upstream on their sea-to-source trip on the Pawcatuck. With higher water levels their plans have changed and they will be coming downstream from the other end of the river, but it will still be a nice day for us to paddle this section. Looks like the temps and humidity will drop and the rain will be gone by the time we meet at 10:00. I know parking can be an issue at Potter Hill, but hopefully we can leave all the cars at the new landing off Post Office Lane. Just below the put in are the new fish weirs at the old Bradford Dam. At the current level I assume they will be runnable, but we’ll check it out when we get there tomorrow, and it is an easy portage for those who would rather. For those going to Green Hill (or the Upper Wood) today have fun. For those paddling the Pawcatuck tomorrow see you tomorrow at 10:00 at Bradford. Erik eckilson@cox.net |
