Bill, Earl and I just got back from another great trip on the upper Connecticut River on the border of NH and VT. This time we did the section from the Gilman Dam to McIndoe Falls. At one time, this was one of the longest whitewater runs in New England with a 320 foot drop over 20 miles. Now it is flatwater after the construction of hydro dams that started in the 1930’s and were completed in the 1950’s. Rather than portaging dams, we set up a base camp at Crazy Horse Campground in Littleton and did day trips. Great crew as always.
