Quinebaug River 3/19

The water levels look good for a run on the Quinebaug River from the Fayban Rd canoe launch to the West Thompson dam, in North Grosvenor dale, CT, this Saturday. It's 6 mile course of moving water. Takes about two hours to reach the dam at levels above 300. It's at 440 right now. Some quickwater spots, but there is always the risk of a snag. Definitely for experienced paddlers. The Army Corp of engineers does a spring clean up, but it still might be early for it. What I can see of the river (about 80%) looks clear.
I have to work the night before but would be happy to lead anyone that would like to meet at Fayban around 11 to shuttle and then launch between 1130 and noon. An after paddle meal at (ahh! I can't think of the name! But they have great burgers and ribs) in Woodstock is on my agenda too.
