My Mother's Collection - Assorted Pieces incl. Mulberry Cyprus

I’m the daughter of a former Flow Blue International Collectors Club member and Convention attendee. Learning about and collecting Flow Blue brought my mother much joy, as did connecting with the Flow Blue ‘family’ of fellow appreciators. She died in 2018 and my siblings and I were happy to inherit some sets and pieces (Cyprus, Washington Vase), continuing the tradition. However, she was a true ‘collector’ and as I finally get to the last boxes of her estate, I find still more pieces. My mother was also a great record keeper, so I have a lot of receipts, emails re: when she bought it, how much paid, etc.

My goal is to do well by my mother by finding a good home for these pieces. I’ve been researching EBay, Facebook, local auction houses (I’m outside D.C.), Etsy, etc. I am hoping to avoid setting up my own digital presence to sell items, piece by piece, and would love to sell it as a ‘group’ I know that may be naive, but I am not looking to make a lot of money; rather, to find someone who knows the value and appreciates the beauty of Flow Blue - to keep or who is more equipped than I to thoughtfully sell for their ‘next life.’

I’ve shared some photos (grouping items on tables, but can photograph/measure individually, if needed). I also attached a photo of some of my ‘extra’ tureens and pitchers from the Mulberry Cypress set she gave me that I am also interested in selling - there are only so many one can use!

You have some beautiful pieces here, though it may be hard to sell as a lot. Could you tell us where you are located, that is, in what state? That may help someone interested to determine if they could pick things up locally from you. Thank you for using our message board and good luck with finding a home for these wonderful pieces.

Judy is away at our annual convention at the moment (as are many members of FBICC) so unable to get back to you herself. That's an impressive list you put together which took lots of work, but I think you will find it very useful.

I'll look through it in more detail to see if I find any information you may want to add.

Hi Olivia,

Some info which may be of help whether you sell anything through our message board or otherwise:

As a general rule, if the glaze is blue on your pieces, it's "flow blue". If it's brown, it's called "Flow Mulberry". Pieces with additional coloring are referred to as "Flow Mulberry Polychrome", etc. Polychrome pieces are popular so it's good to add that in your description.

#10 are Posset, Punch and/or Syllabub cups (footed, narrow cups). Again, popular so you may want to make sure and include one of the names when describing it.
#11 is a waste bowl
#12 is a large posset cup (may have a better name)
#13 is a coffee pot, lid doesn't look like it matches as far as size, at least. Any other lids which might match and fit better?
#14 is a cream pitcher which is a bit more descriptive than just pitcher
#17 cream pitcher
#18 is a 5" sauce dish
#23 are soup bowls
#24 is a 4" cup plate
#25 is a 4 1/2" cup plate, possible sauce dish
#36 flow blue polychrome with a hand-painted "brushstroke" pattern
#54 child's waste bowl (children pieces are very popular)
#56 razor box or toothbrush holder (popular)
#61 likely a child's lid - if hole - coffee pot, no hole - sugar bowl
#62 sugar bowls
#64 I think is a planter

Desire to Donate Items to FBICC for Auction for Ed Fund

Dear Group,
Grateful for your various notes over the last few months as I've tried to learn more about/sell a number of pieces from my mother's estate. I've decided to donate what I have to FBICC (and I will cover shipping) to be sold at next summer's convention auction (?) and theh proceeds can benefit the Education Fund - which seems like a great cause.
I've left a message on the online form for the President and then for the Membership President, but no response. Grateful if anyone here could help me connect with someone official to 'accept' (or reject

Thanks for your interest in mugs. I have actually decided to donate these pieces from my mother's collection and a number of pieces from the Mulberry Cypress collection I inherited to the FBICC so they can sell with proceeds benefitting the Educational Fund. I hope you'll keep your eyes out for them in future auctions.
