Identification Help

Hello there,
I am seeking information about the pattern in the photo. The photo is from a book called “The Essence of English Life” by Sheila Pickles. I am wondering if anyone recognizes it?

Thank you for using our message board, Shannon. Unfortunately, the photo shows an item that may or may not be flow blue. It could be a transferware piece or a newer blue and white piece. I've asked our pattern identification directors to see if they could identify it, and it isn't in our database. I've also tried Google Search, to no avail. If I do run across anything, I will let you know.

Thank you so much for looking! The website “Replacements Etc” allowed me to do a visual search and it came up with a flow blue pattern called Tyrian by Hollinshead & Kirkham. However, they had no images of the cups available, just a plate. I wondered if by any chance you had this pattern in your database and if so, whether you had an image of the cup? Thank you again for all your help!

That certainly helps! Yes, we do have TYRIAN listed in our PID, under #177. The cup sure looks different than the plate, at least from the angles of the photo. I was able to find the referenced book on the internet (available from Thriftbooks) and I took a copy of that photo that I will send to the PID directors: hopefully it will be a clearer shot that will upload better, and it can be used as comparison. Thank you for the information!
