I unearthed this Flow Blue lid from my backyard (when planting trees) along with many antique bottles (circa 1900's). I've been working to identify it and cannot. Can anyone offer up some clues for me?

Hi Rebecque,
What fun! Sounds like you should keep digging!
I'm not readily finding the pattern to this lovely lid, though it has some strong similarities to Athol by Burgess & Leigh - c. 1910 - e.g. floral aster type pattern, six sided. but will keep looking. Does anyone else possibly recognize the pattern?
Does the Lid have a hole in it? If it does, it's a teapot lid. If not, likely a Sugar Lid. Though there are other possibilities depending upon the size such as a Chocolate Pot lid.
If I find out anything further, I will certainly post it to you.
Thanks for contacting us. Danelle

Thank you so much for the info. Danelle! I do want to keep digging, but hesitate to tear up all our hard work in the landscaping. Our house was built in 1904 (Bellingham, WA) and we keep finding treasures. I found a Lady Lillian perfume bottle (c.1875) the other day while digging a hole to plant a shrub in the backyard.
We're so very curious to discover what the lid accompanied. Love the sugar bowl or Chocolate Pot suggestions. Neat!!
I'll check out Athol patterns by Burgess & Leigh - thank you! I can be content with just those possibilities. After spending many hours in online research with no answers, I'm tuckered out!
The lid does not have a hole in it, but there is a strange little blue dot. I also found shards that also look like Flow Blue, but I can't remember if I found them in the same spot as the lid.
I've included more photos of our treasure for anyone that might be able to offer additional insight.
Thanks again! Rebecque

Hi Rebecque,
Your scrubs are lucky. I'd probably tear up my whole yard given the amazing things you're coming across!
But back to the flow blue, your lid is most likely from sugar bowl lid given the size and shape. Chocolate pot lids are always round in my experience.
We don't think it's Athol though the 6 sided shape is intriguing which this pattern is known to have and that shape is not common. Finial is probably rather unique also as is the embossing.
It definitely appears to be from the Victorian period - c. 1890's.
So we're still puzzled and looking though it's always it's an unrecorded pattern which do seem to keep popping up.
To my eye, the shards look to be from different patterns though the fragments are so small, it's hard to tell.
We'll let you know if we discover anything definitive, but please feel free to share any more photos of your discoveries!
Best, Danelle
