My parents recently passed away and I inherited a 12 place settings with all of the extras (soup toureen, meat platter, coffe pot, tea pot, salt dips, covered casseroles, etc.) of Flow Blue China. My parents had it for years and years in a China Closet. I know at one time they had contacted Mary Frank Gaston and she had wanted to purchase it, but they weren't selling it. I have decided the time has come to sell it - should I join the club to post it for sale. It is beautiful - I think it is the Wentworth pattern. I can email pictures.
Hi Denise: We always encourage people to join our club! As a member, you can advertise in the Blueberry Notes publication what you have for sale, and you can also attend conventions and sell your items in several venues. But by joining the club, you may learn more about this wonderful china and decide to keep it! You will need to decide if you want to sell individual pieces or the set as one complete unit. Pictures are necessary for the buyer to look at, but also sizes of the plates, bowls, etc. are helpful. Any chips or hairlines, etc. need to be included when you are negotiating. It sounds like you have some really nice extras to the set: coffee pot, salt dips, tea pot. These are harder to find than just plates and the normal everyday pieces. You also need to list the pattern/pottery name: Wentworth I believe is a Grindley pattern, but there may be other potters that made a "Wentworth" pattern. You also might check eBay to see what your pieces are being SOLD for. This will help you with deciding what you might want to ask for your items. Hope all of this helps, and feel free to ask more questions.
