Delph by James Shaw - why is some flow blue & others not?
Posted by laura on May 23, 2018, 5:32 pm
I acquired from an estate a large collection of various dinnerware pieces marked James M. Shaw, DELPH. Some of the pieces have a very sharply defined pattern, and others are what I'd call flow blue (same pattern, darker, blurrier ink).
Was it common for pieces from the same maker/same mark to be produced in both styles, and what's the "cut off point" to use the term "flow blue" when describing it?
Does it make a difference when pricing it for resale?
Thanks for any info!
p.s. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a pic and will return with it if so. But hopefully the question is somewhat self-explanatory.
