Defa Lucy dolls ?? What happen to all the talented seamstresses that sewed for the Silkstones ?

Hello everybody
I have been out of the doll world loop for about 10 years, recently I ran across an auction for a Defa Lucy doll . She caught my eye with her wonderful clothes and her beautiful face. Doing a little research I found a whole box of new Defa Lucy dolls on the Ali shopping website for $15.
These dolls are selling for 40 to $50 and some for $200 and above on eBay. The photos on eBay make the dolls look high quality and gorgeous.On Ali
Website they look more like a dollar store Barbie.
Just curious if any of you own any of these dolls and if you do how do you like them how's the quality?

Was also curious as to what happened to all the talented seamstresses that used to make beautiful clothing for the silkstone dolls.
Sorry I don't remember anyone's name, but I'm sure someone here does.
To do they sell on eBay do they have a website of their own where'd they go?

I appreciate any of you taking the time to answer my questions

but they don't have them anymore. I have bought other play-line dolls on Aliexpress with no problems. I love the DL dolls, highly recommend them! KC

Khoi is doing a silkstone collection right now. Quite good.

I did get accepted to the Facebook VIP group for this doll. Found out too there's a group on Reddit for this doll . They said the clothing is excellent.

I have three of the Defa Lucy playline dolls and really like them. Photos>>

I've had mine for a good while and I like some of the "couture" dolls, but they haven't quite made one I HAD to have. I will say the clothing for the high end dolls looks really nice. Even the playline dolls have clothing that I would say is equivalent to Barbie clothes and maybe a bit better.

The articulation is not as extensive as the Made to Move bodies, but it is not bad at all.
This Defa Lucy came with the motorcycle for under $30.

The playline ones can be found on Ali Express, etc. Their clothing is playline level, maybe a smidge better than some Barbie dolls.

The collector Defa Lucy dolls are sold on the Defa Lucy website: https://defalucy.com/

I highly recommend following their Instagram account as they do post when a doll will be a released, usually just a couple days before they do it. The dolls are very limited and most sell out in minutes.

I also recommend joining a Facebook group, which I think is called Defa Lucy VIP Club or something like that. It's run by Rudi of RND Collectibles. He sometimes gets an ultra limited edition exclusive. The only way to know about those are to be in the group and kind of be in the right place at the right time.

I only have one of each. Here's a photo of a collector version, Series 1 Model 1.5, and a playline one from the denim line.

I'm nervous about AliExp - I'd love to know if people have used it and it's been a good experience. I've had some bad luck lately with shipping in the stated by UPS-UPSWorldwideDelivery-USPS. Dropped tracking and lost package of an item that isn't easily replaceable, and so far no reimbursement. It makes me not want to have anything shipped. The entities are not being helpful at all.

But I do like the Defa Lucy dolls - and would like to try one. But the prices are a bit off-putting. I don't spend big dollars on dolls these days, which is fine.

I know the person who you mean, who used to sew for the Silkstones - I used to get email notifications about their wonderful outfits. But I can't remember their name, sadly. I'm sure someone on here will, though!

I hope you get, and post pictures of, a Defa Lucy! Good luck and get a good price!

set up, it is so easy. You can see all your orders and track them and you even get reward points for feedback and coupons. It's actually very easy and the items come fast, sometimes the boxes aren't perfect, but with the DL and other play dolls, I don't care, as I open them anyway. If you need help or more info. LMK. Yeah, I’m a little leery about shopping on Ail , Temu and Shien.

I have been looking around and found a DEFA Lucy band club on Facebook . I put in a request to join. I haven’t heard back just yet..

Yeah, I have not bought a doll in 16 years. PI’m trying to get rid of all my Barbie and fashion royalty stuff right now and then I see the DEFA Lucy doll…… I think I am hopeless
