FAF Presents: Fashion Fever Barbie & Friends, 2004 (part 2)

Three more FF fashions to share including the first one on the original doll from Judie's collection.

2004 Fashion Fever Barbie, stock #H0645- Such a pretty Barbie showing off a lovely mix of textured fabric fashion pieces. The stand is also original and was part of the base of the tube packaging that the doll came in.

2004 Fashion Fever Drew, stock #H0653- A lovely dusty mauve fashion with ballerina vibes, and great boots! Navajo Princess is just modeling and was not the original doll for this fashion.

Here I unzipped the zipper a bit to show the molded plastic necklace that was included on the original doll.

2004 Fashion Fever Drew, stock #H0654- Anyone remember gauchos? Might be the wrong term but at least that's what I think of when I see this style of pants. This Asian-inspired set includes a nice brocade jacket and matching shell top, plus the gauchos, a gold plastic cuff bracelet, a tiny purse and a pair of gold boots. Once again, this is not the doll that would have originally come with this fashion.

I remember gauchos! It is hard to compare these fashions to what we get today from Mattel

ITA. I saw a color-blocked denim jacket in the Barbie aisle & upclose saw it had printed buttons! UG

The whole thing was just a print and so cheap! It's so sad to see Mattel cut corners like this. Not to mention all the fashions are so ill-fitting nowadays, too.

The buttons were printed? Wow. Not even the glued on silver dots?

It seems like they are making most of the playline clothes out of this thin slightly stretchy nylon?/polyester? fabric onto which they print textures and colors. I think there is going to be a new generation of collectors who never played with fashion dolls wearing clothes with real details and interesting fabrics as children.

I only remember the first one, & I love seeing her unboxed, or un-tubed. Rare for these dolls.
