When my mother downsized she gave me a trinket box and an ashtray (!) in the same blue-on-white Wedgewood patter. The Rosenthal dishes look very similar to my mother's good china which I think she still has.

I think the plates should have a simple name... like...well..>>

Chocolate cake plates! I think I would wet myself if I ever found a box of vintage Barbie's.You just would not get them in England. We only have a few and people know they are of value (mostly they think they are more valuable than they are)
Those place mats looked beautiful the work that does into these things... I could never be that good!

Wow, you got a lot of great stuff! Love both of the plates, the Blue
Peacocks (like Blue Willow) and the German one with lovely subdued
colors.

Can’t blame you for not leaving those beautiful placements behind. They would dress up any table.

And what can I say about the Barbie haul except “Lucky you!” Lots
of good stuff in that box!
