And now for pt 2!
While the girls waited for their dates to arrive, their dates were picking up the food.
"Peter, um, why did you tell me to order only two fries for the four of us?" Sean asked. "It won't be nearly enough food!"
"Because then," Peter replied, "we'll have to share with the girls. And that's more romantic. Imagine: your hand brushing against hers as you and she both reach for a fry at the same time."
Sean, rolling his eyes, "OK, you're the expert. I guess...but I hope they don't think we're too cheap to bring more food."
Sunny, shielding her eyes from the sun, "Oh, you made it! I knew you would!"
"Sorry we're late, ladies," said Sean. "The line at the food truck was longer than we expected. Um, so, I'm Sean and this is Peter."
"And I'm Sunny and this is Skye"
"I kinda guessed your names from your hair," said Sean.
"Then we should've switched names just to confuse you," said Skye.
Sunny elbowed Skye and said to the boys, "Please, sit down."
The guys seated themselves and began unpacking the food. When Sean handed Sunny a frozen lemonade, she was astonished. "How did you know lemonade was my favorite?"
"I dunno," Sean said. "I just kinda got this feeling that you should have one.... I saw it on the menu and just knew you'd love it." Sunny privately took this as a good omen.
Peter saw that Sean and Sunny were hitting it off so he started a conversation with Skye. "I was worried you might mind my bringing my dog, but I see you brought yours, too."
"I love dogs," said Skye. "This is Fin, my beagle."
"Pleased to meet you, Fin. This is Rocky my boxer. I know it's a little cliche, but the name suits."
Skye smiled to herself. If he's a dog lover he can't be all bad...
Sunny to herself, "Any guy who brings me a hotdog the size of my head is ok with me! Even if he should've brought more fries..."
Sean slung his guitar from around his back and said, "Anyone want to hear a tune?"
Sunny was delighted. She loves music. "Oh, you really play? I'd love to hear something!"
"I'll start with the song I thought of when I first saw you today," said Sean. "Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play? The sun is out, the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you, dear Prudence."
"That was wonderful!" exclaimed Sunny, clapping. "And my favorite Beatles' song, too!"
"Somehow I knew that would be your favorite," said Sean. "I bet you like 'Here Comes the Sun', too?"
While Sunny and Sean were caught up in the music, Peter and Skye got to know one another... they discussed the various pros and cons of the local dog parks with Peter inviting Skye to join him one day at his favorite one by the river.
Sean crooned, "Tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun..." And Sunny was smitten.
Skye asked Peter, "How did you get Rocky?"
Peter answered, "Rescue."
Skye smiled. "So was Finn." Yes, he wasn't bad. Not bad at all.
Sean sang, "Here Comes the Sun..." and Sunny swooned.
Sunny to herself, "I think he may be the one..."
Sean to himself, "I think she may be the one..."
"It might be...it could be... love?"
Sean said, "For you."
Sunny said, "I'll keep it always as a memento of this day."
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering if Peter's idea of sharing fries worked... of course it did
