A "What About Erin?" Short Story - The Honeymoom
Posted by Watbetty on August 8, 2019, 9:45 pm
Erin's cousin Lucy married for the second time....(Her first husband mysteriously disappeared with not a trace of him to be found) Lucy married Noah Farraday in a short ceremony attended only by friends and family (Erin of course planned out her cousin's wedding with only minor feuds with her sisters and the bride) |
After the ceremony the bride & groom set off for their honeymoon in a tropical retreat. Unfortunately for the groom he tripped on the tarmac and hurt his ankle. What a way to start a honeymoon.
Lucy: At least the doctor said it was only a sprain...it could have been worse....at least you didn't break it.
Noah: I know, but it's not the way I wanted to start our life together Luce.
Lucy: The doctor said it would be better in a few days maybe??
Noah: What he said was it could take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks depending on whether I follow his instructions.
Lucy: If I hadn't stumbled on the tarmac you wouldn't have fallen. I'm so sorry Noah.
Noah: Luce it wasn't your fault...it's just the way I fell.
Lucy: This is what I get for wanting to go away for our honeymoon....we could have just stayed at home and hibernated....if we had done that then this would not have happened to you.
Noah: It was just bad timing Lucy....help me get more comfortable on the bed.
Lucy: Do you want something to eat, drink....I feel so helpless?
Noah: Everything will be fine Luce...we will still have a good time and there is still lots to see even if I can't get around easily...we can rent one of those golf carts and see the island.
Lucy: I know...but we won't be walking on the beach at sunset holding hands and swimming is out of the question for you....what are we going to do now with all our free time.
Noah: I can think of a few things.
Noah quickly dispenses with his t-shirt and then notices some tears coming down his bride's face.
Noah: Don't cry Luce,
Lucy: Why not? I should have known this would be a disaster...maybe I'm not meant to have a good honeymoon.
Noah: Since when are you superstitious? Jonathan Sterling didn't know what a good thing he had when he married you. I am not going to make the same mistake. My ankle is just a set back...we can still have fun....we just need to be a little bit more cautious that's all.
Lucy: I know you hate it when I remind you of Jonathan...I'm sorry.
Noah: There is nothing to be sorry for Luce, that part of your life is over....it's now just you and me against the world and your parents.
Lucy: Mom & Dad like you.
Noah: They like my parents not necessarily me.
Lucy: Mom doesn't like many people...but I know she likes you. She wanted me to marry you years ago.
Noah: But you rebelled and married Sterling instead.
Lucy: I thought he loved me but he only wanted to get revenge on my family.
Noah: Come here Lucy.
Noah: I love you...I always have, but I knew you needed time to come to the same conclusion as me...that we were meant to be together. I even love it when you annoy me....and let me tell you I was really annoyed when you ran off and married Sterling...but in the end I only wanted you to be happy.
Lucy: You make me happy.
Noah: You make me happy too. Now our honeymoon may not have started out the way we wanted but you should look on the bright side.
Lucy: What bright side?
Noah: You have me all to yourself and since I'm wounded I can't run away. You could have your way with me.
Lucy: And what way would that be?
Noah: You can do anything you want to me as long as you don't touch my ankle.
Noah: I am at your mercy.
Lucy: That is an interesting prospect...but will it top all those fun things we had planned.
Noah: I'm sure we can think of things to do inside at least until I can put some weight on my ankle.
Lucy: And then we can get that walk on the beach in the sunset?
Noah: What is with you and sunsets?
Lucy: It's romantic and something I didn't do the first time.
Noah: I don't really want to know what you did or didn't do with Sterling....let's concentrate on us and what I'm going to do to you right now.
Lucy: Are you sure you shouldn't get some rest?
Noah: We will definitely get some rest...but first.....
Noah pulls Lucy closer and passionately kisses her.....let the honeymoon commence.
This story came to be because as I was deboxing Noah last night and chatting with a my friend Pam on Whatsapp I managed to break the post of Noah's right foot....(don't worry his new foot will arrive in a couple weeks) Pam suggested I put a cast or wrap on it and write a story....so I did. I hope you enjoyed it.
