Fall webworms build webs out near the ends of branches in late summer. They eat all the leaves inside the nest. Tent caterpillars build their webs near tree forks and crotches in the spring and leave their nests to eat, returning for shelter. Bagworms are those little prickly bags (about the size of a thumb tip) you often see on juniper/cedar trees they'll also eat on deciduous trees). Only one caterpillar lives in a bagworm bag and they crawl around with their bags for safety. They've got awfully tough bags. Bagworm moths have quite an interesting life cycle.
