google usually finds me a "Hoosier" with sour cream or that vintage one that went viral a couple of years ago but neither are hers. It was a pastry shell with sliced apples and milk. The sugar would sink to the bottom and make a layer under the apples and then the milk would brown in spots on top. It was my dad's favorite. We have her other recipes but not that one. I think it came out of an old Better Homes and Gardens cookbook so one day I'm going to buy a vintage one and scour it. Otherwise, it's an Ohio recipe or she made it up. At least we have her pie crust recipe and it's so perfect. I do love pecan second best and then pumpkin. Homemade apple with grama's pie crust is divine, too!
