I've posted Bagdad construction info and where I got my inspirations from on my blog in two posts. always Ad-free, but I do list what I used. Part 1
Actual scene from the Movie, Thief of Bagdad 1924\
Sketch by the Art Director, Menzies, for the art deco style sets for "Thief". It's hard to explain the process of picking and choosing what to show from 16 acres of sets down to 24"x24" and still tell the story.
First Mockup of the 'city' and backdrops---would this work?
How to show the scale, and still have room for the dolls to tell the story?
The backside of the panels---finished as blowing sands in the desert---choosing a palette of colors to use on both sides.
The other back panel---of the foam insulation sheets used. How-to's extensive and explained.
One never knows what one might use for such a construction---a crocheted vintage doll dress?
And, Grandmother's pillow case trim?
Lightweight foam details
How did IT all become THIS!?
Details, photos and how-to's on my ad-free blog posts. Thanks for looking!
