He had a lot of fluid drained from around his heart and lungs due to suspected heart failure (probably from being hyperthryroid) and you know the rest about all the oxygen and medicine he needed.
As soon as his breathing rate had slowed down I was allowed to bring him home. The first couple of days he was on an eye medicine that knocked him out, now that he's off that he's a bit better. But he's still not really eating and that means I can't sneak his pills into food. He's a big guy and really hates pills, but mom and I are determined to get his medicine in him (and are also syringe-feeding him turkey baby food til his appetite returns). Anyway, he's his snuggly self other than being tired and not eating and I'm thankful beyond measure just to have him sitting in my lap purring again. Thank you all again for keeping me company during his hospital stay and all your sweet and caring messages of support and well-wishes. I treaured each one.
