The BMR 1959 Walmart Saga Archived Message

Well, it sort of feels like a saga. I finally caved and decided to get the boy in this waves line, because he so cute!!! Headed on line, and about the only place that had him in stock was Walmart. OK, I can order from there. He is approx 30$, and I can get free shipping at $35. Cool, I think, I will just see if they have a couple of the licensed fashions I am missing. Found a couple of things put them in the cart and proceed to check out. Well, come to find out they want me to pick up the fashions in store. OK, I can live with that for free shipping on the other, then I notice they want me to pick them up in the next town 20 miles away! For a forty mile round trip, I can do without free shipping, and take them out of the cart. OK, figure I am home free now. I order on Friday and I get a notice that the doll will be here on Sunday and requires a signature. Seriously? For a 30 dollar doll? We were planning on doing some hiking and were going to go anyway, but had a problem with our truck. Sigh. Well, did the doll show up? No, of course not. I check the tracking again, now it says Wed. No worries, my son should be home all day. Late yesterday afternoon while on the phone, I heard two faint taps on the front door. I go to check and there is doll and no one waiting for a signature!!! Walmart is such a mess right now of things you can only buy in store, only pick up in store, only get shipped, that there is almost no way to shop with them sensibly. Competing with Amazon they are not. On the bright side, I have my doll and he is adorable, Hopefully this weekend, I will have time for some pix.
