I'm finally in my doll room, this week and last...getting caught up, cleaning, sorting and BUILDING!
Not too impressive, but it was a problem that had to be solved...I have a big oscillating fan (back and forth) to keep air moving in the dollroom.
You can see it just to the left of the added on room, well it swings right next to the house I wanted to expand this 1968 Barbie Family HOUSE.
I got this ages ago for $6. with a cracked/trashed roof, but the rest is excellent...so I ripped off the roof, now it looks like a white castle, lol, with the intention of putting beds above...when we did the shelf---there was this little space to the left I could use for a 'bunk room'instead of loft beds.(I'd have to stand on a step ladder to reach those] so...a building a small room was a better idea.
El from Vickies and Billie (Eilish) an artist are going to share this hip space. This is the front door...which has two small spaces on either side, a hidden kitchenette maybe.
The space in front will have a table (custom) and some vintage chairs or maybe black $$ store chairs.
Billie needs an art room, but EL needs a work space for keeping the inventories straight at the store, and of course special orders, events and advertising. And it would be nice if they could entertain and have a social life.
Of course you need a relaxing space, really not a lot of space though.
The new bedroom is tight 11x @ 7 1/2", room for a storage tower and new cardboard bunkbeds..I only had an 11" depth...but both those dolls are short...so YAY! Custom will work. The bed is currently upside down right now while the wood supports' glue dries. I have some great Bohemian handkerchiefs that will make perfect bedding.
I think I'll put some papers up over the pegboard to match in color if I can.
I farted around building that little bedroom all afternoon...tomorrow, maybe the gals can move in at least partially! Like all homes, they aren't finished instantly---but you have to 'grow' into them. More in the future!
Bedroom is foamcore, scrapbook papers, doublestick tape and duct tape. I still have edges to finish, and I'm probably going to do a similar floor treatment as the real house.
Best part other than ripping off the broken roof, it won't be altered at all ---not bad for 58 years old.
