With the recent Mattel layoffs at the corporate headquarters in El Segundo making the news, I wanted you to hear it from me personally.
To my friends and fellow collectors I am here to share after 26 years at Mattel, I have left the Dreamhouse.

It’s been a privilege and an honor to have designed for the world’s most famous fashion doll and I am proud of what I have accomplished in my time on the Barbie team. I’ve worked with some of the most incredible designers, celebrities, and licensees during my tenure on Barbie. Lots of tears and goodbye hugs were shared this week at work.

A special thank you to my fellow collectors for the appreciation with the dolls I have designed and the ongoing passion to keep the hobby alive. Although I will no longer be designing for Mattel, my time with Barbie will never come to an end. I was a Barbie collector long before my Mattel employment and I will still be collecting for years to come. I hope to still see you at future doll shows and conventions. Since we work so far in advance, I will still have dolls coming out in 2025 and 2026.

March has been a challenging month and it will take me some time to process leaving the Barbie team. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all I’ve shared with this community. Thank you for understanding I may not be responsive to comments and messages.

I don’t know what the next chapter holds for me yet, but I’m hopeful it keeps me connected to my passion for Barbie. And I hope you’re there too.
