the base of the light fits neatly in the palm of my hand. i couldn't open the back to put in the batteries, but Patrick had no trouble doing that for me. the light switch is easy to turn on, but i have to hold it steady if i want to change the setting.i can open the jaws to clip it on doors, etc. YEY! i have a learning curve here to determine the best position to place them, on the shelves, doors, etc.it's necessary to watch the background for glare, even if the dolls look ok.i think the suggestion that was made to direct the light onto a white screen so that it is diffused onto the dio is a good one, but i haven't figured out how to set up a screen..i've very little room for that.the neck of the lights is very flexible..i was able to raise the light (not moving the clip at all) so i could light a doll in the back row which had been lost in the shadows. all in all, i'm pleased with these lights from Amazon, might get one more that's all warm lights. the white light is way too bright for me.. an added bonus for me is that they are very easy to take from one location in my rl home to another...because i use my rt hand for steering the wheelchair, i only have one hand for holding things. the last pic was taken with the lights clipped quite far away from the centre doll, clipped one on each side, on the same shelf. short poems with a simile edward poem analysis
