"Oh! I can't wait for our blind dates!" Sunny exclaimed. "I just know it's going to be a great day!"
"Sunny, you're always overly optimistic," Skye said, scoffing. "It could just as easily be a disaster."
"And you're overly pessimistic," countered Sunny. "With my way, I get the fun of anticipating something good happening instead of being cynical and miserable."
"I am not miserable," said Skye. "With my way, I'm not hopeful and then if it turns out well, I'm happily surprised. And if it turns out badly, well, no harm done because I didn't expect much to begin with, and I don't suffer disappointment like you which *would* make me miserable."
"Oh, c'mon," Sunny said in a coaxing tone. "How bad could it be? Rosalie set this up and she has good intuition about people."
"Well, that's true," Skye conceded. "Rosalie set her sister, Peony, up and that had turned out really well."
The girls kicked their shoes off and laid out their picnic blanket.
"I hope the boys bring lots of food," said Sunny. "That bike ride has left me starving!"
Skye settled her beagle, Finn, on her lap. "I might give this a chance, but, just so you know, they're already late."
To be continued...
