Toni and Lil are special to me because they represent being happy and loving at an older age than the always-represented young folks. These women are a little older, wiser, and they've learned appreciation for the happy moments in life.
Leland is special because he's a character I've had in my mind for years, who totally came alive when Andrea (Wildflower Dolls) created him for me. He is the living embodiment of the character.
My darling Jane, also made by Andrea, is the main character in my Wildflower Cottage story, which has been in my head since 2011, around the time that my Dad passed. I needed something positive to distract me and I hit on doing photostories of two young women renting a cottage by the sea. Jane's sweet face just touches my heart.
Leland's sister, Lizzie, who brings joy to my world with her smile.
A doll Mum gave me, back when I was only collecting vintage Barbies. I just put her in doll storage at the time, and only recently brought her out. I love her so much, now that I've learned to appreciate all dolls!
This lovely mini Gene was owned by a member of my doll club - a dear woman, who has since passed. I was able to adopt this doll from her collection after we lost Lois. We both loved this doll, and so I named her Lois, in her memory.
My early teens mini-me. Love this wonderful baggie Francie SO much!
Me, back in the day...
