The New Testament lists six people who bore witness that Jesus was innocent of the charges against him that led to his crucifixion.
Amazingly, all six of these people revealed they felt the Lord was not guilty of a capital crime on the same day! This day was April 5 in 30 A.D., a Wednesday, the day Jesus was arrested, tried and crucified.
1) Judas, on the Wednesday morning just before Jesus is crucified, admits to Jewish religious leaders that he had betrayed innocent blood (Matthew 27:3 - 4).
2 & 3) Pontius Pilate, after Jesus is mocked and scourged by Herod, admits he finds no fault with him. He also states that Herod Antipas did not find anything worthy of death against the Lord (Luke 23:13 - 15, Matthew 27:24).
4) Pilate's wife sends him a message, just before Christ is officially sent to be crucified, that she suffered from a dream declaring the Lord was a righteous man. She warns her husband not to condemn him (Matthew 27:19).
5) A thief who is also being crucified along with Christ admits that the Lord has done nothing worthy of the death penalty (Luke 23:41).
6) A Roman Centurion, who witnessed the miraculous occurrences that took place during and after Jesus death, declared he was a righteous man (Luke 23:47).
