Re: What changes would you like to see?
You complain of D6 not doing their part. I never see riders there voicing an opinion at a meeting. You can come and participate, you can run for a position, you can try to help fix things from within. D6 has been trying to get a handle on the problems but as mentioned before, getting the track owners on the same page has been attempted for years. D6 does not have the teeth to get them in line and even if they did there is no one in charge that could. Everything needs some kind of governing body, we need to make D6 work. You don't have a Union but you do have a MX representative, I think? I've never seen one at a meeting. Now about a series. Even if you did 1 race at all the tracks listed, what 13, that's to many and even if it was a successful series, it's only 1 good race for the track. Years ago Bob Monko ran the numbers of all the tracks in the district and the track that had the least races had a higher total number of rider turnout for the year than the tracks that ran several more races the same season. Think about if a track ran 6 races a year with a modest 400 rider turn out they would have to run 12 a year at todays 200 average turn out. The tracks would be miles ahead eliminating 6 races worth of costs. I don't have the silver bullet to fix it, I don't think it will get fixed over night, but if we don't try something different nothing will get better.
