I lived in Hartley until 1965 and as far as I can remember the Tollhouse Stores was still there and still working as a shop. Many times I was sent to the store to get half an ounce of Golden Virginia and a pack of roll-ups for my father. I was only a kiddie but in those days it didn't matter. I was given thruppence for my efforts and this bought me 12 blackjacks or twelve fruit salad sweets.
