Kind of sounds like (F12), what the video I shared, but instead of your F12, you tab or hold the OPTION (ALT Windows KB), and then the screen comes up with those same options.

By the way, either that USB stick, OR an SD card will work, which I do have one of those.

No rush here though as long as the Chrome Browser keeps working with this NO LONGER supported MacOS :-)
