Have you tried removing the sd card and reinstalling it or have you turn off your phone and then turn it back on ?

I ask because it sounds like your phone isn't recognizing your sd card and doing the above might help your phone recognize it.

Also not all sd cards are equal, some of the times the cheap ones won't be recognize by the device you added it to.
