QUOTE: Do you need antivirus software or a VPN?
No, you don't need antivirus software for your Chromebook. While antivirus apps are available through the Play Store, ChromeOS provides sufficient virus protection to rival the best antivirus software. However, a VPN can be helpful.

I NEVER use a VPN, My Spectrum Internet provider tries to block me out of web sites that are http and not https. Some of my own web pages are http.
So I turn off Google Protection.
I have used sport sites and video game sites that they try to block.
With No Problems. Some are sites that would totally crash a windows computer.
When I am on this Dell Latitude laptop and log into my Chromebook Gmail I instantly get a email from google that says Warning Someone on a Dell latitude in North Carolina has logged into your Gmail. If this was you do nothing.
