Deterioration is worse if you leave your car sitting out in the sun, you should always put covers on car tires if the car is sitting for long times in the sun without being used much.
This isn't quite the same but in high school I used to work at a dry cleaners and I was required to let customers who brought in curtains to be dry cleaned, that if they hadn't been cleaned yearly that there was a very good probability that their curtains would fall apart during the dry cleaning due to sun damage that can't be seen. I saw that happen a few times, where the curtains came in looking perfect and as soon as they came out of the dry cleaner, they would be in shreds. Sun can do a lot of damage to everything.
Here's what google says about 10 year old tires on cars that aren't driven much-
Are 10 year old tires safe to drive on?
As they age, the rubber compounds deteriorate, causing them to be more prone to failure. As such, it is strongly recommended that vehicle owners replace tires that are over six years old and refrain from using aged tires, even if the tread depth appears to be optimal.
