There are TWO ways to go into settings on a Chromebook.
1: Click down on the right by the clock and go in that way.
2: Click the three dots at the top right and go in that way.
For a long time now I have been ignoring that second way and doing everything in way number one.
In way number 2 you see You And Google at the top left
At the bottom you see About Chrome with no OS after it.
(why I have been ignoring this settings page)
Down near the bottom you also see Reset Settings.
This is something different than what a power-wash or what a back up from Restoring OS can do.
And Clicking it also fixed a few other things besides my gmail problem.
Such As ..
For a long time now when I have many pages open at the same time. They didn't show across the top of my screen. They Do now.
For a long time now I couldn't turn off my name and all those previous posting numbers when I post in boardhost.
They are off now.
And I can now Clear History and return to Gmail and not see that stupid page.
