Looking for a male setter
Posted by Scott Berg on March 3, 2020, 9:55 am
Looking for a male setter that has it all but does not run enough. Could be a young dog that just likely will not run enough to win. I am not afraid of range but realize dogs that have it all don't get sold. Range is the one thing I am willing to compromise on. 612-308-5895
I may have what you're looking for in my dog, Buster. He is five years young (hasn't been worked hard since early training). He won an American Field horseback Shooting Dog stake over 9 other dogs. He was with Sheldon Twer for 18 months, so he is trained. Naturally, he will need a good tune-up, but the tools are all there (except force fetch).
Buster is an orange & white running about 50-55 pounds. He is one of the most personable dogs you could find. He loves to hang around, but is a bolt when you hit the field. He is easy to set a range on. He does everything except the perfect retrieve. He can learn that, as he likes to please.
He is sired by CH Rapidan, and is out of a direct daughter of HOF Tekoa Mtn Sunrise. He has sired three good litters for me. All of the pups had straight tails, Buster's lone fault (visually) being a curved tail when at rest. His tail straightens out nicely when in the field at work.
Buster is available only because of my retirement from the dog business.
