Most of the news articles on this omit the "nearly". The diver makes it pretty clear that it didn't actually try to swallow him, it was more confused than anything else. Shame it didn't put more effort into it. But then, if it had, we wouldn't have gotten this article. It's hard to report being swallowed by a whale from inside a whale. 83

This has to be one of the luckiest people in the world.
Not because they survived, but because it would be so awesome to be engulfed by a whale's mouth.
